Liberty Ship Memorial

Liberty Ship Memorial
Exhibit Planning and Design

The Memorial is a tribute to the people who built the World War II Liberty ships at the New England Shipbuilding Corporation in South Portland, Maine.

The centerpiece of the Memorial is a thirty-five foot tall sculptural replica of the Liberty ship’s bow section. Exterior exhibit panels include donor recognition, a list of the 266 ships constructed on the site, and a series of six interpretive panels. The project was completed in collaboration with Richard Renner Architects.
